Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto (ITDA) proudly celebrates another remarkable achievement by its academic community. Dr. Ir. Teguh Wibowo, S.T., M.T., a lecturer at ITDA, has been granted a Simple Patent for his invention entitled "Method for Determining the Location and Capacity of Offshore Wind Power Plants."
This achievement reflects ITDA's strong commitment to advancing research and innovation that contribute to national development, particularly in supporting the transition toward renewable energy.
The patented invention integrates geospatial data, ERA5 satellite technology, and wind sensors to analyze wind characteristics using the Weibull Distribution, covering processes from wind speed data calibration to turbine layout mapping for offshore wind farm development. The method is expected to provide a more effective and efficient approach to identifying suitable locations and capacities for offshore wind power plants based on the characteristics of a specific area.
This innovation represents one of ITDA's successful research commercialization initiatives, supporting the development of renewable energy while strengthening Indonesia's energy independence. Beyond its academic value, the invention offers practical solutions for the advancement of clean energy technologies in Indonesia.
The Rector and the entire academic community of ITDA extend their sincere congratulations to Dr. Ir. Teguh Wibowo, S.T., M.T. on this outstanding accomplishment. The achievement further reinforces ITDA's commitment to fostering a culture of research, innovation, and technology commercialization that delivers meaningful impact to society and contributes to sustainable national development.
